@ MAD

Recognize those small cylindrical gold parts? You might not notice this at first, but they are something we see all the time: electrical connectors, such as the little pieces of metal that plug earbuds into an iPhone. Nadia Martinez, one of our #MADArtistStudios artists, used them to create this piece, titled ‘Tears of Joy.’ She’ll be working every Friday at MAD for the next four months in a studio open to the public. Stop by to see her process. #jewelry #craft Tears of Joy, 2014 Gold Plated connectors, resin and chain

First week at the MAD

It was a great start, this week I was at the MAD Museum Thursday evening and Friday during the day, a lot of visitors passed by the studio including Michele @madcapheiress25 and she took some photographs, here is one

The other day I visited the Museum of Arts and Design for the first time and met artist-in-residence Nadia Martinez (@imartineza) who creates jewelry and sculptures from computer parts. Her work is quite beautiful. Here she's working with resistors and crystals. #art #jewelry #sculpture #artist #artistinresidence #igersnyc #museumofartanddesign #nyc #newyorkcity
